A public open house is being put on by the city Thursday in regards to the Hughes Lake Area Structure Plan – an area just west of the airport.
They will be presenting two draft land use and road network options for area landowners and residents to view.
“The main difference between the two concepts is the transportation network and how the arterial roads align, which has some impact on access to the bypass,” said Alison Downing, City of Grande Prairie Planner.
The project is now in Phase 2.
“We took the information that we received in the first phase, drafted these two concepts, and now we’re going back again to the landowners and the public to show them what we came up, based on their input,” explained Downing. “The land uses will be discussed, and the transportation network, and that sort of thing.”
Park space will also be a topic of discussion.
Downing says the area, just west of the airport, will be a mix of commercial and industrial land.
No reservation is required and it happens Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Muskoseepi Park in the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion.
