Totals for the All-Pro tarp auctions for both Stompede and Teepee Creek are up this year compared to 2016. Stompede saw a $14,200 increase. Teepee Creek recorded a $2300 jump.
Stompede President Terri Sudnik calls the increase amazing and thinks this year’s economic climate is a little better.
“Guys are going back to work and there’s something to be said about the sport of rodeo and chuckwagons. It’s a sport that’s here to stay.”
Sudnik agrees this is a nice 40th anniversary present for the show.
“We have one more sale coming up on April 6 at Maddhatters with the WPCA. You look at the trends, what happened in Calgary, what happened here (the All-Pro auction), I think we’re positioned pretty well.”
The WPCA sale Thursday will also include Dawson Creek. The host venue in Dawson will be the VJV Auction Mart.
