What started as a shoplifting case in Beaverlodge has led to a string of charges against two people from Grande Prairie.
Just before noon Monday, Beaverlodge RCMP were called to a shoplifting complaint at a hardware store. The clerk gave police the license number of a suspect vehicle, which was located at a convenience store a short time later.
A man and woman were arrested without incident.
A search of the vehicle turned up stolen property taken from local stores, drugs and property related to a crime in Hinton that happened in March.
Thirty-seven-year old Richard Kenneth Benson is facing 10 charges, 32-year-old Sindy Allison Lacey eight counts.
Both are due in court April 12.
