A celebration is taking place at Grande Prairie Regional College on May 27 to recognize their 50th anniversary, and they’ll be opening a time capsule from 1992, which marked the institution’s 25th anniversary.
They will have a number of special guests and will also be sealing another time capsule that will be opened during GPRC’s 75th anniversary celebrations in 2042 – 25 years from now.
“As we celebrate 50 years of our students achieving their dreams, GPRC looks to its future dreams and goals of post-secondary education in our region,” said Don Gnatiuk, President and CEO of GPRC. “GPRC is committed to serving its communities and is just as vital now as it was 50 years ago. We will continue to build and serve the educational dreams of people in northwestern Alberta and beyond for the next 50 years.”
You can make a submission to the next time capsule for $50. You’ll have a choice of submitting a 4 x 6 photo, a letter to your future self, friend or loved one, or a note about what the college means to you.
The event is being themed as “celebrating dreams” and tickets are now available online or by calling the Revolution Place box office at 780-538-0387.
