Grande Prairie RCMP say what people thought might be someone with a bomb turned out to be somebody in a costume.
Police were called to a business in the area of 112th Street and 98th Avenue Tuesday afternoon just before 5 p.m. after the man entered the business.
Witnesses say he was wearing a mask and was carrying something that looked like an explosive device on his back.
It turned out to be a costume and there was no threat to the public.
The man was taken in, but released without being charged.
Police are thanking the public for taking the incident seriously.
