With the recent mild weather being replaced by a weekend of snow, City Crews are working on grading gravel roads.
“The frost coming out of the road coupled by melting snow have saturated most of our gravel roads” says Robert Carroll, Transportation Manager for the City. “We have our grader out trying their best to keep the roads safe and passable. Repairs can be very difficult in these conditions and we need the roads to dry out in order for permanent repairs to happen.”
Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution when travelling on gravel roads because soft and rutted areas can cause motorists to lose control.
Truckers are also reminded that spring roads bans remain in effect at 50%.
