The Subway Texas Scramble is back for another year, with four hole in one prizes, along with other new additions.
Rotary Member, Mike O’Connor says, a change to this year’s event is the million dollar shoot out.
“You shoot off, if you get on the green, you win a submarine and you win a chance to qualify in the semi finals on the 24th and on the 24th we are going to pick 20 golfers that are closest and each one of them get an opportunity to shoot for a million dollars.”
There will also be four hole in one prizes and if golfers buy a super pass to Bear Creek Golf Club, they get a chance to shoot for ten-thousand dollars.
Executive Director of United Way, Brenda Yamkowy says, this event is very important for the community.
“It means a lot, it’s basically raising a lot of money into the community that goes back into the community, so it’s helping us to support our community partners and between United Way and Rotary there’s over 60 of those organizations in our community, so we’re looking forward to being able to provide those dollars, so that they can do the work that they need to do.”
The aim this year is to raise $75,000.
Proceeds will go to Swan City Rotary, United Way Alberta Northwest along with 60 different community groups.
