Potholes in Grande Prairie are being filled with the exception of a few.
Transportation Services Manager Robert Carroll says city crews do not fix craters on private property like shopping complexes, that is the owner’s responsibility.
City crews also do not touch potholes on the bypass because that is under provincial jurisdiction.
“We do our best to relay that information to the property owner or the province and we expect them to go through their process in taking steps to get the repair done.”
He adds if a road under construction has potholes like 68th Ave, it is up to the contractor to fix it.
“The normal procedure is the contractor is responsible if there are some potholes that appear then they are the ones that respond and repair.”
He says obviously if it is a safety concern, the city will do what they can.
