It took roughly 40 minutes for the Grande Prairie Fire Department to bring a fire in the upper level of an Ivy subdivision home under control this morning.
A call came in a 6:55 a.m. and the blaze was declared under control at 7:39.
As a result, one nearby home sustained heat damage but the fire itself was contained and did not spread.
An investigation has been launched.
No one was home when fire crews arrived on scene.
