A man has been charged after a murder outside the Brewhouse over two and a half years ago.
John William Rock, 28, of Edmonton was shot outside of the Canadian Brewhouse in Grande Prairie on October 1, 2014.
Police have now charged 35-year-old Nicholas Richard Harris of Edmonton.
Harris has been charged with one count of first degree murder, possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a restricted firearm without holding a subsisting license, and possession of a restricted firearm while prohibited from doing so.
Harris remains in custody and his first court appearance is scheduled for May 15, 2017 in Grande Prairie.
At the end of August 2015, Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue spent a few days scraping the bottom of a storm pond in the city, looking for evidence relating to the homicide.
The body of water that was searched was less than a five-minute drive from where the shooting happened.
At the time, RCMP would not say if any evidence was found that could lead them to a suspect. There has been no confirmation to date that the gun used in the shooting has ever been found.
