It was a busy night for Grande Prairie RCMP.
They took nine impaired drivers off city roads between 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and 6:00 a.m. this morning.
“Grande Prairie RCMP officers are constantly on the roads trying to help ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians, with a specific focus on locating and removing impaired drivers from the road,” said Cst. Gabrielle Spencer, with Community Policing. “We’re out there day and night doing those things.”
Spencer says it’s important to make smart decisions behind the wheel and fines and penalties can be severe for impaired drivers.
She adds it’s crucial motorists arrange alternative modes of transportation if they plan on consuming alcohol.
If you suspect someone is operating a vehicle impaired dial 911.
