A Flood Watch has been issued for the B.C. side of the Peace Region.
The Peace River Regional District has delivered sand and sandbag bins to a number of locations. They are encouraging residents to stock up on supplies, such as food and medication, to last for at least 72 hours.
Livestock and equipment should also be moved to high ground.
River levels in the Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Chetwynd and Hudson’s Hope areas are expected to rise, and those living nearby are being asked to take caution.
Sand and sandbag bins can be found at the following locations:
- Moberly Lake Fire Hall
- Yips Subdivision on Moberly Lake
- Tomslake Fire Hall
- Tupper Community Hall
- Ivor Johnson Park in Hasler
- Dokie at Compass Services
