The Suicide Prevention Resource Centre is hosting a New Day event for people who have lost someone to suicide.
Spokesperson, Faris Jean Atkinson says it is a time for people to unwind.
“It is just a time to relax and rejuvenate and do something for yourself. There’s no program, there’s no speaker, there’s no sharing circle, there’s nothing like that. It’s just drop in and look after yourself, an opportunity to have a free massage a free reiki treatment.”
Atkinson says the centre puts on programs to help prevent suicide.
“We do a lot of programming that helps people understand mental illness, how to help someone who has mental illness or how to be a better helper and look after themselves in the process.”
The drop-in event takes place at the centre from 4:30 to 8:30 Thursday evening.
