This week the Caribou Child and Youth Centre will be making a presence in the community for Victims and Survivors of Crime Week.
The campaign will run from May 28 to June 3 across the country.
The initiative’s goal is to raise awareness about the issues facing victims of crime and the services that are provided.
Spokesperson, Kallie Baker says, the Caribou Child and Youth Centre works to support and empower youth who need it.
“Our goal is to raise awareness in our community of the services we’re able to offer children and youth survivors of crime, as well as their families. In the last five years, over 500 children have come through the doors at the Caribou Centre. So, we felt like this was a great way to honour all of the brave children and youth who have accessed our centre.”
The centre will be hosting an event at the Eastlink Centre on May 30 where they will be giving out free resources to people who are interested.
