Grande Prairie RCMP believe a pair of early morning fires in the Highland Park neighbourhood were deliberately set.
The first call came in at around 3am about a vehicle and structure fire in the 99th street and 90th avenue area.
There were people in the home at the time, however they were all able to get out safely.
Shortly after that fire was put out, police and fire department officials noticed a second fire one block away in the area of 91st avenue and 99th street.
This time it was a home that was under renovations that was on fire.
Nobody was in the house at the time, however a neighbouring house to the North also caught fire as a result, and had to be evacuated.
There were no injuries as a result of either blaze.
Police and fire officials continue to investigate.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Grande Prairie detachment at 780-830-5700, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
