They’ve waited four years, but tonight the County Brewers will finally get to take the field at their new home ballpark at the Crosslink County Sportsplex.
They’ve had a chance to check the new field out, and like what they see.
“We’ve had a couple practices there, I mean, it’s looking great now. Last year, with all that rain the grass got kind of bad in right field. The County and the Sportsplex are doing everything they can to keep it looking good, and it’s looking really good,” Kyle Bucknell said, player-coach for the County Brewers. “All the guys are excited to play here… it’s tough playing on the road all the time.”
The Brewers, who are the defending Wheatbelt Baseball League champs, are undefeated at 2-0-1 so far this year.
“We’ve been playing some good baseball, we’ve been playing some good teams. It’s not going to get any easier, so we’re going to keep battling and putting the ball in play,” said Bucknell.
They host the Dawson Creek Dodgers tonight. The Dodgers enter action with a record of 2-1.
First pitch is at 7:15. It’s free for fans to attend.
