A Grande Prairie court has given an eight-month jail sentence to a woman who pleaded guilty in a case related to money being stolen from the Rycroft Arena Fund Raising Board.
Amy Lyne admitted to a count of theft over $5000 during a January court appearance. She was also given a $200 fine and 24 months probation when sentencing took place in Grande Prairie court Tuesday.
A count of fraud of $5000 was withdrawn when the guilty plea was entered to the other charge back in January.
The crown says between $60,000 and $80,000 was stolen from the Board while Lyne was the organization’s treasurer.
