The Grande Prairie RCMP’s annual Camp Little Buffalo BBQ is taking place tomorrow.
They will be selling lunch for $5 and each person will get a burger, a bag of chips and a pop.
Constable Gabrielle Spencer says all the proceeds go directly to the camp.
“Kids get some swag so they get like a T-shirt and stuff like that promoting camp so money goes towards that and the food and activities that are done at camp,” said Spencer.
Little Buffalo is a leadership camp that aims to develop self-esteem, assertiveness, communication skills, goal setting and problem-solving for kids between 11 and 13 years of age.
The non-profit camp is a result of the RCMP, Catholic Family Services, Alberta Health Services and PACE, and is free for children to attend.
“Kids do enjoy camp a lot, it gives them a time to have fun and be outside,” said Spencer, who will be attending the camp for her first time as Camp Director.
