Work on the Pete Eager fire hall begins today.
Phase one of the project, which will be carried out by Proform Concrete Services, includes replacing the concrete aprons in front of the bays, as well as widening one apron to accommodate larger equipment.
The work is expected to wrap up by early August, weather permitting.
Future phases include replacing the asphalt parking lot and upgrading the station’s access road.
The city says the fire hall will remain open while the work is being done and that there will be no impact to emergency services.
