The unemployment rate for the Grande Prairie region has dropped significantly – two percentage points in five months.
It was 5.8 per cent in July, down from 6.3 in June and 7.8 in March.
The region stretches from Jasper to Peace River.
Statistics Canada reports Canada recorded its lowest unemployment rate since October 2008 at 6.3 per cent.
The government agency says the national economy added 10,900 jobs in July.
