Alberta Open Farm Days will take place August 19 and 20 this year.
Culture and Tourism Minister Ricardo Miranda says Alberta has what he describes as a “compelling” ag. tourism story.
“This year’s Alberta Open Farm Days promises to be the best one yet. Farms, raches, and ag tourism operators across the province will be swinging open their gates to welcome people and to showcase the sights, sounds and tastes of rural Alberta.”
Miranda adds all kinds of places around the province will be acting as hosts.
“At these province wide open houses, visitors can enjoy culinary delights from local chefs and producers and experience what life is like on host farms across the province. This year, we have more than 100 unique farm experiences and over 20 culinary events.”
Two places in the Peace will be hosting events that weekend; Country Road RV Park will be hosting the GP Local Food Fest. Simoneau Honey Buzziness near Marie Reine will offer samples, tours and a chance to make beeswax candles.
