Canada Mortgage and Housing says the number of homes where construction has started or finished so far this year in Grande Prairie is behind last year’s pace.
There have been 121 starts and 130 completions in Grande Prairie through July this year, compared to 140 and 331 respectively over the same period last year.
According to CMHC, 115 homes are what are called absorptions in Grande Prairie so far this year, ones that have been completed and sold. There were 131 through the first seven months of 2017
The average sale price was a little over $446,000
Starts are down to 92 so far in 2017 in the County of Grande Prairie compared to 129 in 2016.
Completions are up from 90 to 151.
