Alberta Open Farm Days are taking place today and tomorrow.
Luree Williamson, Agriculture for Life CEO, said there is no better way than visiting an actual farm or ranch for Albertans to learn where their food comes from.
“To learn all about Alberta agriculture, to meet the producers and to have the opportunity to sort of get your hands dirty, so we’re very, very excited to partner on the Fifth Annual Alberta Open Farm Days,” said Williamson.
Country Roads RV Park will be hosting the Grande Prairie Local Food Fest both days. People can try various local products.
Also, Simoneau Honey Buzziness near Marie Reine will offer samples, host tours and give people a chance to make beeswax candles and dress like a beekeeper.
Williamson said over 100 farms across Alberta are taking part.
“We’ve got numerous culinary events, albertafarmdays.com is where you want to go and look at the listing and plan your route.”
