This year the Annual Golf Classic for Life will be a family event.
The First Annual Family Classic for Life will be on August 26 at the Bear Paw Golf Course.
“And so that’s a Par 3, nine holes, so, sort of family friendly,” said Amanda Frayn, Executive Director of the Regional EMS Foundation. “Bring the kids, bring the grand-kids, whatever, make a team and then also golf, and then have some family fun on the side.”
Tee times are at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Golf can be purchased online for $100. The fee covers everyone one your team of four or five, gives you VIP seating at the movie on the driving range and some tickets to the family events.
“But if you say, ‘I don’t really want to golf’ and you just want to come out for a family fun day, then do that,” said Frayn. “So, bouncy castles, we have some henna artists, we have face painting and some crafts to do, and then it all finishes off in the evening with a movie in the driving range.”
For non-golfers, the movie seating is on a first come, first serve basis and costs $5 per person. It is asked that those attended the movie bring their own chair.
Frayn said the event’s proceeds go to the Foundation, which takes support from the general public.
She added the Foundation does good work in Grande Prairie when it comes to supporting AED placements.
“Being able to continually bring those in, we continue to get requests for them,” said Frayn. “And there’s always new schools being built and new public events and public places coming on board that want and need AED’s so, that they can provide safety for the people who are using their facility or their space.”
