UPDATE AUG 25:
RCMP say traffic was limited to an alternating single lane overnight following a collision where a South bound boom truck swung out and struck a semi-truck in the North bound lane. It happened on Highway 40, 70 km’s South of Grande Prairie. Traffic was limited while safety inspectors were on site to examine the boom truck.
STARS, EMS and the Grovedale Fire Department responded to the scene of a collision on Highway 40 near the Cutbank River this afternoon.
A 35-year-old male was transferred to the QEll Hospital in Grande Prairie via STARS, in serious but stable condition.
This is separate from the collision that occurred earlier today along Highway 40 between two semi-trucks. RCMP say they were called to Highway 40 near Township Road 683 around 12:30 p.m. One of the drivers involved was taken to hospital by ground ambulance. Both lanes have reopened on this section of Highway 40.
