As much of downtown remains under construction, the city is hosting a showcase on the rehabilitation and streetscape project.
Spokesperson Lydia Sadiq says the Thursday afternoon event is meant to celebrate a portion of the project that is nearing completion.
“This project, we know it is worth it, but we also want the public to understand what the end result is going to be – that the construction is worth it. Even though it is a little painful right now, there is an end in sight and things are going well with the project.”
Sadiq says they are on pace for a late October – early November completion of phases 1 and 2, which is on pace with projected completion times.
The showcase is happening on 101 street between 99 and 100 avenues.
It starts at 4pm and is open to the public.
The rehab and streetscapes project began last year with the goal of modernizing and revitalizing the core.
