Enrollment is up at the Grande Prairie Regional College.
Susan Bansgrove GPRC Vice President of Academics and Research says they are up nine per cent in credit programming and slightly down in trades.
“On a whole we are on an upwards swing from where we we’ve been for several years now so we are quite excited about that. We’ve seen growth in several programs, in kinesiology, motorcycle, University transfer programming, in our computing science programming, so we are excited with the growth we are seeing.”
She says the college is attributing the increase to a rebounding economy and that students are recognizing what GPRC offers.
“I think the economy is coming back, I think people are recognizing what GPRC can offer students in terms of post-secondary education and the richness of the experience that students can receive here.”
