Two homes in the Creekside area of Grande Prairie caught fire this afternoon, but thankfully everyone is safe.
The Grande Prairie Fire Department responded just after 1 p.m. and found one home fully engulfed in flames. It had also spread to another home.
Strong winds made it difficult to extinguish the blaze, however fire crews were resilient and managed to bring it under control in under 30 minutes.
One home is described as having ‘extensive damage’ while the second is described as having ‘moderate damage’.
One woman was treated for minor injuries after a fall, while another was treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
