A local job fair that takes place twice each year is set for September 20 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Grande Prairie.
At last fall’s job fair, they had only 17 exhibitors. They already have over 40 lined up this time around.
“I’m not an expert at gauging the economy, but when I see twice as many employers looking for staff as last year, that, to me, is sounding like good news,” said Kevin Hilgers, event organizer.
He adds there is a wide variety of employers.
“I’ve never had Canada Post at one of these job fairs. It’s been a few years since we’ve had McDonalds. Yes, it’s energy driven, but there’s certainly non-energy [businesses] represented as well.”
Admission is free and there is still room for employers looking to set up booths.
