A record amount of rain fell Tuesday in Grande Prairie and area.
According to Environment Canada, the area received 26.6 millimetres, compared to the previous record of 20.3 set in 1971 on September 19th.
The rainfall warning is still in effect with another 10 to 20 millimetres expected to fall today which could break another record.
Today’s record rainfall of eight millimetres was set on September 20, 1947.
The record for most rain in one day of any day in September is 39 millimetres – set on September 1, 1991.
The average rainfall for all of September is 41 millimetres which we will likely pass before tomorrow.
