A 34-year-old from Manning faces eight charges following a standoff with police Monday night.
RCMP were dispatched at roughly 11:30 p.m. Monday and, upon arrival, found a man sitting in a parked vehicle with a what appeared to be a gun.
Authorities safely evacuated occupants of a nearby residence to ensure their safety.
The standoff lasted hours but RCMP successfully arrested the man without incident.
Kyle Patrick Neal will appear in Peace River Provincial Court October 16, 2017.
He faces charges which include:
– Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking;
– Possession of a controlled substance (x3);
– Careless use of a firearm;
– Uttering threats;
– Causing a disturbance.
The firearm was determined to be a BB gun.
