Effective immediately, the County has issued a fire ban on all burning in its jurisdiction. That means all burn permits have been cancelled and no new ones will be issued until further notice. The restriction applies to those backyard fire pits as well. Tinder dry conditions and strong winds have put the fire danger at extreme according to Sustainable Resources. In the last two weeks alone, County firefighters have doused nearly 30 wildfires, with virtually every single one human caused.
