Highways Prove Fatal This Long Weekend
May 21, 2012
It's been a fatal long weekend on the highways. A 40 year old Grande Prairie woman died after the vehicle she was driving crossed the center line into the path of a northbound semi truck and trailer Sunday on Highway 40, 5 km south of the Wapiti Bridge.
On Saturday, a 68 year old Grande Prairie man died after the SUV he was driving struck a pickup truck towing a 5th wheel trailer as he was pulling onto Highway 43 from the old Bezanson Highway. A second pick up truck traveling behind then collided with the initial accident.
Police continue to investigate these collisions and want to remind the public to take every effort to arrive at your destination safely this long weekend.
