At County Council Monday acting Reeve Leanne Beaupre was elected as the new County of Grande Prairie Reeve. Beaupre says she was honored to receive the job.  She says it's definitely a full time gig with lots on the go for the County.  Beaupre has a lot of experience serving on local boards and committees.  She was Chair of Community Futures Grande Prairie and Region, Chair of the Municipal Planning Commission and a member of the Assessment Review Board.

Also at Monday's meeting, Councilor Ross Sutherland was elected Deputy Reeve.  Council also made a motion to go ahead with a by-election to replace former Councilor McDonald.  Nomination day will be May 14th with the Election to take place June 11th.
