9 Portable Classrooms for GP Public School District

May 9, 2012

Much needed Portable classrooms will be making their way to Grande Prairie in time for next school year.

Karen Prokopowich, Chairwoman of the public school board says they're being allocated nine classrooms.  The Province originally allocated just three modular classrooms to the The Grande Prairie Public School District, but after a huge team effort between administration, the board and parents the Province heard the cries for more portable classrooms in Grande Prairie.

The additional six classrooms are coming from another school board in Northern Alberta.  Prokopowich says they will have to move the classrooms to Grande Prairie and plan to have them in place by the September 2012 school year start. Six of the classrooms will go to Derek Taylor School, with the other three being allocated to École Parkside School.
