An RCMP officer suffered minor injuries after being hit by a quad in an incident Saturday evening.
Around 6 p.m., two people were spotted racing quads near Taylor on the Alaska Highway, heading towards Fort St. John. They were clocked going faster than 120 km/hour.
The duo was eventually slowed by a pickup near the 271 Road. One of the two drivers was taken into custody, however the second suspect fled after striking one of the officers with the quad.
Robert Alexander Smith, 32, faces seven charges. They include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and impaired driving. He was scheduled to appear in court today.
RCMP are asking witnesses to come forward, along with the driver of the pickup truck.
