The annual Spring and Summer Tree Pruning Program begins this week in Grande Prairie.
Dead or hazardous trees will be promptly removed or modified periodically between now and September.
Over the next two weeks, there will be a focus on the Muskoseepi Park corridor between 84 and 68 Avenue.
“Our primary goal is to reduce hazards linked to dead tree snags, and at the same time try to enhance the natural habitat of our wildlife species,” said Dan Beilman, Parks Operations Tree Maintenance Technician for the City of Grande Prairie. “This will encourage diversity in our natural urban forest.”
Residents are asked to give workers plenty of room and to keep an eye out for “tree work ahead” signs.
