Update 4:05 p.m.:
Police say two people have died after a collision north of Sexsmith this morning.
At 7:12 a.m., a truck travelling northbound on Highway 2 near Township 750 crossed the centre line and collided head on with an oncoming truck that was travelling south.
The two males pronounced deceased at the scene were a 34-year-old passenger from Grande Prairie in the northbound truck and the driver of the southbound truck, a 38-year-old male from Worsley.
A passenger in the southbound vehicle was taken by STARS to the QEII but has since been transported to Edmonton hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the northbound truck and a second male passenger were taken to hospital by EMS both with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic on Highway 2 was diverted for several hours.
The investigation is ongoing and the names of the deceased males will not be released.

8:44 a.m.: Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 2 north of Sexsmith.
The collision happened earlier this morning at Highway 2 and Township Road 750.
The northbound lane has been opened to alternating traffic after being closed for a few hours and an RCMP collision analyst is on scene.
STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene at 7:25 a.m. and transported a 23-year-old man to the QEII in serious but stable condition.
Grande Prairie Rural RCMP are investigating and further details will be released when available.
