Someone will be taking home over $243,000 from this year’s Rotary Dream Home lottery 50-50. The total was over $486,000 – beating last year’s record of $398,000.
Ticket sales were up from last year as well, which was a record setting year.
“Around 4 p.m. today (April 23) we passed 2016 sales for the three lotteries, meaning – we beat our best year ever – 2016. The past week has been incredible. We improved sales the past week just over 40% over last year’s final week, the biggest week of the year every year (The last week of the lottery). When you consider the economy we are – frankly – dumbfounded – at the response,” said Raffle Manager, Kevin Hilgers.
Proceeds from the lottery support a number of Rotary Club of Grande Prairie community projects including the Rotary Wellness Centre at the new Grande Prairie Regional Hospital – which will be a home away from home for those who have loved ones in the hospital.
The final draw is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the dream home in Taylor Estates. Everyone is welcome to attend the draw.
