The jobless rate for the region that includes Grande Prairie has gone down.
In March the unemployment rate was 7.8 per cent compared to April’s number of 7.3.
According to Statistics Canada the national unemployment rate fell to 6.5 per cent the lowest since October 2008.
The government report says “employment in Alberta held steady in April after a period of growth that began in autumn 2016. The unemployment rate in the province was 7.9 per cent in April, down 0.5 percentage points from the previous month as fewer people searched for work.”
