The City is giving Grande Prairie Minor Hockey a little more office space to work with at the Coke Centre.
GP Minor Hockey has requested to lease out the boardroom space which city employees currently occupy. The organization continues to grow each year, leading to the need for additional room.
“Essentially what we’ve done, is we’ve just created more space for their staff to work and consolidated city staff within the building into one location,” said Kylee Haining, Manager of Sport and Recreation for the City of Grande Prairie.
“Currently, we have two city staff upstairs in the boardroom next to minor hockey, and minor hockey has asked to lease that space. What we’ve done is we’ve designed an expansion to the existing reception area to add office space in the downstairs of the Coca-Cola Centre, so that minor hockey can have that upstairs space.”
Haining says they do need to shuffle around some funding to make it work, but that shouldn’t be an issue.
Grande Prairie Minor Hockey’s annual general meeting is coming up on May 31, 2017.
