12th Peace Region Petroleum Show gets underway
Energy Sector related businesses have taken over Evergreen Park for the Peace Region Petroleum Show.
An organizer and President of the GP Petroleum Association Rob Petrone says the inside and outside booths are close to being sold out.
“Two years ago it was the biggest show we had and then from there it was the recession. This show is going to be about 80 per cent of the size of that show a few years ago which we are really happy with that, you know based on the economy and what’s occurred here in the last couple years.”
He says while this 12th edition will not be as large as the one two years ago, it is still the third largest show of its kind in North America.
“They find it economical to come and attend our show here, you know this is where the work is and this is where the equipment is, so rather than having bare the expense of hauling all the equipment down to Calgary, they can showcase it right here in Grande Prairie.”
Petrone adds there will be everything from heavy equipment to new industry related technologies at the two-day show.
