The 2017-18 roster is beginning to take shape for Grande Prairie Storm head coach Matt Keillor and general manager Mark Bomersback, adding a pair of players over the last week.
Most recently they signed 1999-born defenseman Nowel Maarhuis (top of photo), who comes to them from the B.C. Major Midget League’s Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
The 17-year-old stands at 6’2″ and weighs in at 205 pounds. He put up five goals, 15 assists and 86 penalty minutes in 40 games last season, and Keillor says he will add size and skill to their back end.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old forward Noah Walters (bottom of photo) was added last week. He appeared in one game with the Whitecourt Wolverines last season and also put up 32 points in 34 games with the Calgary Flames Midget AAA team.
