The Canada Day party starts tonight in Grande Prairie with a free BBQ at Oliver’s Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
We hit the streets to find out how locals are celebrating Canada’s 150th. By the sounds of it, many locals are planning to visit Muskoseepi Park and take in the fireworks tonight and watch the parade tomorrow (Saturday).
When we asked people what one word they would use to describe Canada the most common responses were ‘amazing, awesome, diversity and freedom’.
And all the people we spoke to were happy to live in Canada, saying they loved the friendliness and kindness of fellow Canadians.
Tonight’s BBQ will be followed by entertainment and kid’s activities and fireworks at midnight.
At 7 a.m. tomorrow there will be a pancake breakfast at the Eastlink Centre and the parade starts at 1 p.m. It goes through downtown Grande Prairie to Muskoseepi Park where there will be celebrations into the evening.
