Leader of the federal Conservative Party, Andrew Scheer, announced the Conservative House leadership team in the nation’s capital today.
Grande Prairie-Mackenzie MP Chris Warkentin will remain in the role of Deputy House Leader.
“Chris is a champion for Albertans and has done an excellent job holding the Liberals to account in the House of Commons,” Andrew Scheer said.
Warkentin was first appointed to the position in September 2016.
“I am honoured to have Andrew Scheer’s confidence as I continue to fulfill the role of Deputy House Leader of the Official Opposition,” Warkentin said. “I will continue to defend the interests of Canadian families and taxpayers in the House of Commons with my Conservative colleagues.”
Scheer named Lisa Raitt as the party’s Deputy Leader.
