A Grande Prairie teen named Canada’s Most Outstanding Army Cadet will officially receive her award tonight.
Darcy Nilsson, Bursary Governor, says 17-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Clarrisa Stoffelsen is getting the 2017 Walsh Memorial Award and was nominated following a Vimy Day ceremony in Edmonton.
“She was actually chosen to be the parade commander for approximately 400 cadets at a Vimy Day ceremony in Edmonton and she was actually able to organize them and control them exceptionally well.”
As part of the award, she will be part of the Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa November 11th.
The ceremony takes place at 6:30 tonight at D-Coy Armouries.
