The city is tweaking its Driveway Windrow Clearing Program.
Transportation Service Manager Robert Carroll says they are introducing the Green Pylon Project.
“In the past, we used spray paint and put paint on the snowbank in front of their house so this year it is going to be something that the owner of the residence will be taking care of. On the day that we are in the area removing snow, they’ll place the green pylon at the end of the driveway so that will identify that this driveway is on the program.”
He says the pylons will be marked with the home’s address.
The program is designed for residents with a disability or meets certain criteria that need help clearing the piles of snow from their driveways.
He adds if you confirm your participation in the program this season, staff will bring the pylon to you.
If you would like to sign up, you must do so in person at the City Service Centre, 9505 112 street and the pylon will be given to you there.
